HPS to waist front

note
HPS: high point shoulder

The high point shoulder or HPS point is used as the base for several vertical measurements. Refer to the hps documentation for information on how to locate this point.

The high point shoulder (HPS) to waist front measurement runs from your HPS down to your waist line across the front of your body.

To measure your HPS to waist front, first localize your HPS point. Then measure straight down to your waist line.

note

If you have breasts, don’t go deep into your underbust region, but also don’t float your measurement tape over long distances. Try to follow the shape a good fitting shirt would have over your front.

Because you don’t follow the body outline completely, the HPS to waist front measurement is usually shorter than the sum of the individual measurements hps-to-bust + bust-point-to-underbust + waist-to-underbust.
