showcase:Jett with Minoan fresco appliques
ยท One min read

Front view of a blue and yellow jacket, with a dolphin and fish appliqued on the front and a blue octopus on the sleeve
The fabric used is boiled wool - I picked up 2 yards of antique white and dyed them to the various shades I needed on the stove.
The ladies on the back come from the Ladies in Blue fresco, reconstructed in the 1910s from rubble found at the Minoan palace at Knossos. The dolphin and fish from the front are from a different room of the same palace complex. The octopus on the sleeves is from a vase found at a different site, Palakaistro, on the same island.
